Washington, D.C. (August 28, 2012) – D.C. United announced today that striker Hamdi Salihi has been named to the Albanian National Team roster for an upcoming World Cup qualifying matchup with Cyprus on September 7th and Switzerland on September 11th.
Salihi has been a regular for the Albanian National Team throughout his career. The striker has scored nine goals in 38 senior team matches. Earlier in the month, Salihi played the full 90 minutes for the Albanian side in a 0-0 tie with Moldova at Qemal Stafa Stadium in Albania.
